Priming

Priming is a process in which a seed is allowed to start with some of the germination processes. Under strictly controlled conditions in our laboratory, the seeds can imbibe water, along with minerals and fertilizers. After a certain amount of time, seeds are taken out, dried, packed and shipped to the nursery or farmer.

As a result of the priming-treatment, the seeds will germinate faster and much more uniform. In some crops we also can take away the limitations from thermo- or photo dormancy.

For optimal results we perform germination tests before and after the priming treatment. In close collaboration with our customers we can return primed seeds in a short period of time.

Those services are done with cooperation with    AGTHOS SEED TECHNOLOGY from Holland offering the products:

EasyPrime-300x70

is a priming method to improve germination of seeds. After priming, seeds will germinate faster, more uniform and with less abnormal seedlings. EasyPrime is offered for many crops, for example tomato, pepper, eggplant (aubergine), melon, leek and brassica.

EasyDormex-300x60

is a priming method to take away dormancy in seeds. Lettuce and endive suffer from thermo– and photo dormancy which limits their germination, even if the conditions are perfect. EasyDormex will eliminate this natural dormancy to enable the seeds to germinate even
